VCR ELECTRIC REMAINS

INTERMISSION #1
MUSIC: Heartaches by Al Bowlly
Image description: Backstory palette shift. Task Manager is standing, hands on hips, glaring at VCR who is reaching for him. Ze says, 'Why do you keep following me around.'VCR says 'Polybius told me to 'go and bother someone else.' What does the word bother mean? She wouldn't tell me.' Task says 'Aren't you only awake for like. 4 hours a day. Why must you use these 4 hours to torment me.' VCR says 'I don't know what the word torment means. Can we play cards now?' Task says 'Only if you'll leave my wife alone for once.' Farther down, VCR is playing a game of solitare, while Task is curled up around them. The letters on the card spell 'WINSTON.' Task says 'Solitare is a one person game, but I'll teach you how to play your first game. It's basically an organizational game. Your goal is to make piles of cards in their correct order.' VCR says 'I like putting things in order!!' Task says 'At least you've got <em>some</em> sense.' VCR asks 'Is this one right?' Task responds 'No, try that one over there.' Farther down, it shows them in the same position from the back. Two cards are now visible, showing the number 11. VCR says 'I won!! Does that mean I get to stay here? Task says 'Where in the world did you get the idea that you'd be excused from my competition if you only won one silly card game?' VCR, confused, says, 'But I won the game?' Task says, 'You're a little freak, has anyone ever told you that before?' There's a crudely drawn list labeled 'VCR'S BEST FRIENDS,' that is implied to be drawn by VCR xyrself. First on the list is a cross, labelled 'first best friend.' The second is a picture of Task smiling, that is labelled 'Task!!' with a thumbs up next to it. Finally is a picture of Polybius smiling, labelled 'I forgor.' VCR says 'My first best friend called me that!! Wait, does that mean you're my second best friend?' Task says 'Only if you promise to stop interrupting Polybius and I's makeout sessions.' VCR says 'Okay!! :D' Farther down, Task is holding a dead VCR while standing next to Polybius. Task says 'Poor thing's battery died. Again. Why am I always the one who has to plug xem in.' Polybius says 'Please tell me you're not going to get attached to all of them like this.' Task says 'Hush. I am not attached.' Polybius asks 'Why were you even messing with them in the first place?' Task responds 'They're like a sopping wet puppy to me. It's sort of endearing. At least they're better behaved then Navashield. End description.
