CHALLENGE 12: Never Coming Back
CHALLENGE: Fix the Mall
Might need to refresh first page if background does not load. I have not had any issues with any other pages, that one's just a bit of a large one.
BONUS
Would recommend a small break between the bonus & the entry, even though they chronologically happen right after each other. Get some water!!
AUTHOR'S NOTE + RESULTS
Hi!! Usually I don't try to dictate interpretations of my work, but I did want to explain why I put the web form in there. :)
I've never really been a big fan of meta in the media I consume? I like it when Dawn does it, & I think the whole Derp camp character timeline is cool. :) But it's generally very hit or miss with me. I really like keeping my fourth wall intact.
So this is my attempt at breaking it.
There's an inherent tragedy in being an ER character. No matter what happens, no matter what they do, they always have to come back to the mall. After all, there's always another challenge to do. Even Heldy, the only character so far to actually make it out of Electric Remains couldn't leave forever. No matter what, they all have to come back
I think that's why my favorite moments in Electric Remains is when these characters do leave. When Genesis embraces Synth for the first time in forever, when ATM has drinks at the bar with Roy, when Phyllis runs away from the mall; those are the ones that have stuck with me. For the tiniest second, they feel real; like they had lives to go back to. And then it's ripped away from us because they had to come back. They're doomed to compete until they die.
This entry is probably the worst night in VCR's life. She learns what death is, then she's finally given exactly what she wants, but it's with the wrong person; so they give it all up and go home and then they find out their teammate is dead & now they're stuck with some french guy. Comparatively, not that bad compared to other contestants, even by this round's standards, but it's her's.
These past 11 months have been some of my highest highs, and lowest lows. It's a little crazy thinking about how much my life has changed since I signed up as VCR back in January. I've definitely had some of my worst nights, but I've also had some pretty good ones too. It's been a blast grinding out entries with Finch & Vani in the ER VC, or watching Ren doodle on an MS Paint canvas, or reading one of Jaxson's analyses, or tormenting Petra with questions about Task Manager, or arguing with Arthur about VCR & Phyllis' dynamic, or literally anything else!! It's been such a fun time with everyone, thank you so much for having fun with me. :) & for what it's worth; if you've made it with me this far in my entries, thank you too. :) I hope you'll stick around to see what else I've got planned.
VCR's just a fictional character. She'll never actually be able to read anything you write her. The only person who'll see these are me & maybe Petra if it would like to. (let me know & I can put the link to the results in my confessional :) ) Maybe at some point I'll put some up on the site if I get some good ones, but for now it's just me. I think that's kind of the point though. She'll never know it, but I think that's the tragedy of a web form.
I don't know, maybe I'm just sounding pretentious at this point. But for a second, I'd like to invite you to pretend with me. What would you want someone to say to you on the worst night of your life?

Also Portland is soso scary. Why are the buildings so LARGE. Who MADE this city?

PLACEMENT:
8th out of 14!!
I referenced these three places to get the web form up and running without a backend. Thank you so much!!
