VCR ELECTRIC REMAINS

INTERMISSION #3
Image description: Backstory palette. VCR is plugged in, frowning. She thinks 'Lord. This hurts too much.' Xe pops open their lid, and pulls out her wires to inspect them. They're rusty as hell. They think 'I need to get this fixed.' Xe walks over to Task and says 'Task? Can you help me with something?' Task says 'What is it.' VCR says 'All of my parts have gotten really rusty over time. I know it can't be fixed, but can you help me clean some of it off?' Task says 'We have some spare baking soda in the janitorial closet.' Once Task has retrieved the baking soda and a rag, VCR sits down and pops her lid open for Task. VCR says 'I just need you to unplug my battery and scrub off as much as you can.' Task says 'You want me to <em>what</em>.' VCR says 'Yeah. If you leave me plugged in, you could shock yourself.' Task says 'I can't-' VCR says 'Or shock me. And damage my parts. Or set the carpet on fire.' Task says 'That means you'll be-' VCR says 'That's okay! I don't mind being dead for a bit. Besides, I trust that you'll plug me back in. I wouldn't trust anyone else here to kill me. Maybe Polybius, but I trust you more.' Task Manager looks concerned, before saying '... You really shouldn't.' VCR smiles, and says 'It's okay! I trust you!' Task says 'If you insist.' They reach into VCR. VCR says 'Ready when you are!' Task says 'Ready.' VCR says 'Goodnight!' Task unplugs the battery, and hir font switches to Baptismal Font's. Ze thinks 'This feels so wrong. So very wrong. But I have to. Task's font switches back to aer own, and ae thinks 'Why are there chunks in the wires.' The font switches back to Times New Roman, and he continues 'This won't do. I should clean that off.' The font switches once again to Digital Delivery, and Task thinks 'What happened to you, VCR?' Behind Task, Navashield is trying to steal VCR's battery. Task catches it, and holds the rag up at Nava, who is standing with it's hands on it's hips. Task says 'What do you think you're doing.' Navashield says 'What. It's not like an early elimination would matter. Xe's already dead.' Task says 'Absolutely not. I made a promise that I intend on keeping. Go back to your stand.' Nava says 'Fine. Whatever. Your loss.' And leaves. Task holds the rag up to his forehead and thinks 'Finally. As clean as it'll get. Time to plug back in xyr battery.' Task plugs back in the battery, but VCR does not boot up. They pick up VCR, and say '... Why isn't she turning on. Hello? VCR?' Her font switches back to Baptismal Font's, and he thinks 'I can fix this.' Ze clips jumper cables to a battery and their font switches back to their own as they think 'I guess she just needs a bit of a' End description.
